Biden and the democrats didn't want to stop it. They wanted to blame Trump for all the riots and unrest. They felt it would make Trump look bad and not in control.
The fact is, Trump offered National guard help to those cities and it was refused. Even Nancy Pelosi was offered military help on January 6th, but she also refused it. Why? To make Trump look bad.
The democrats had been trying to get Trump out of office from day one and to keep him from running again in any and every way they could.
Hasn't worked very well for them as you can see.
