Very concerning because the argument is so clear and well supported by real quotations.

@FreddieUK What great is this comment makes no sense in this context.

@nonsensiclesnail Did you not watch the video which gave it context? Does the fact that someone with these views is so close to the centre of political power not give you cause for concern?

@nonsensiclesnail No, I'm referring to what Musk said.

@nonsensiclesnail What Musk said in Germany is pretty well documented.

@bijouxbroussard I dont understand how this is even happening, I must admit, I’m so scared for all of our futures. How can we be here in this day and age when we are supposed to know better? How can anyone be this blind to let this take hold without. Actively fighting it in some violent manner? Even a non violent manner.. but it is as though they are letting this blossom and grow. I believed that people in power were looking out for the people and not….this. Why has no one killed him yet?

@nonsensiclesnail I agree. But I think about the fact that even now, when someone representing the US is encouraging Germans to forget about what their ancestors did not that long ago. There are still survivors from the camps, and still people who witnessed what happened as children.
The vow has always been "Never again !" but if people are being encouraged to forget, and children not even being taught what happened, history can’t help but be repeated. All kinds of history.

@bijouxbroussard This is the rhythm of humanity. I hate it so much.

@nonsensiclesnail I also resent when people try to claim that it’s an equal struggle, because it isn’t. You have one side trying to follow the rule of law and support our constitution. And they are losing, because the other side has thrown out the rules, refuse to uphold existing law and is trampling the Constitution daily.
Right-wing pundits here have always claimed to be afraid of leftists.
They don’t know any; real leftists would’ve kicked their behinds.
I had a friend here (and I hope she’s well), who would speak about Martin Luther King, Jr’s approach with regard to what’s happening now. Sorry, that’s what you do when you’re 12% of the population. When you’re considerably more (48% of Americans voted for Harris, hardly a Trump "landslide") you have to actively fight back against unjust laws.

@bijouxbroussard Struggles are rarely equal, if they were it wouldn’t be much of a struggle.
There needs to be a true fight, or nothing will change right now. This isnt even a leftist thing.. this is unhinged. We can call it the extreme left but I dont think does this movement justice. Its the ignorant left combined with the ones who have the tools for movement, to make things happen.
Like so many others, i have very republican parents who don’t pay attention to the news or even know what’s actually happening anymore. If they did, they would be beside themselves. They are the racists who taught me to not be one. I wasn’t even aware of this until I was grown. It’s ignorance, not hate. My mother isnt capable of hating anyone, but she says some things now and then that…oh my… but if she were in her right mind, she would not stand for this.
How are so may standing for this?
And what do we do?
I’ve watched so many protests in my life that. No one gives a care about… just as another protest… and riots always end with looting which totally upends the whole point of the riot.
We obviously can’t depend on our politicians because they are failing us. The system has been corrupted.
Now what?

I’ve been a part of a few protests in my life and have family members who were part of those during the civil rights era. One thing that happened in the past, believe it or not, was that in the early days they were careful who were involved, and knew each other. Later the FBI recruited plants and sent them in to disrupt both civil rights groups and anti-Vietnam War protesters.
One thing I saw with Occupy and later with BLM was right-wing plants coming in and causing problems. I’m not going to say they were the only source, but in one notable incident, BLM was accused of killing a black police officer. When the shooter was identified (after shooting a white policeman, when his weapon was tied to both murders), he was found to be a member of the Proud Boys. Why was he at the BLM rally ? To cause trouble.
