Is even Demented Donnie stupid enough to launch a nuclear first strike? And would it even work?
At the risk of inviting conspiracy theories and other nonsense, let’s consider: Is Trump’s dementia so severe that he would commit a nuclear first strike?
That question was a real concern near the end of his first misadministration and it prompted Nancy Pelosi to address the matter with General Milley. For all appearances, Demented Donnie is far more unstable in this his second misadministration at the midpoint of his term than at a similar point in his first disastrous term that ended in a failed insurrection.
But would our stockpile of nuclear weapons even work? The last test explosion by the United States was conducted in 1992 and later in 1992, Congress passed legislation that prohibited the United States from conducting an underground nuclear test and led to the current policy restriction on nuclear explosive testing.
