If they don't, they can never make a case in the 2,800 counties Trump won.
If they don't break the trend, the electorate will continue to trend against them.
In 2020, 8 more electoral votes move from blue states to strong red states ... making it harder to regain the house and presidency.
Their core support is in urban areas, where they currently draw 90% to 110% of available voters, according to the census ... so,there are no more votes there.
They need to play well with others ... or risk marginalizing themselves.
