Global warming is happening, whether Trump believes it or not.
I accept that Russia, the USA, and India don’t care.
Trying to solve this problem alone will not work.
If our country is not to become poorer we may as well use our resources responsibly. Giving us time to develop nuclear and renewable options.
Yes there is oil and gas there, we may as well use them as import them. And not be depended on the volatile Middle East or slave to Russia.
The USA is no longer our ally.

@peterlee I would question whether India cares... they seem to be ramping up renewables massively. Also, renewables are already cheaper than fossil fuels, but the political will is just not there to roll them out, particularly with the infrastructure. But you're otherwise right: Until Trump leaves office the US is no longer our ally.

and? so? therefore?
how is regressing to the stone age going to help?

Also, China has 1,195 coal plants currently in operation, with more being built. More than the US & Europe by a wide margin, and twice as many as we ever had at peak production.
At least we made the effort to make them clean as possible, China could care less.
And "renewables" aren't as clean as everyone thinks, a lot of "dirty" production & logistics goes into building solar & wind farms; quite a bit more than oil/coal on a cost/production return in fact

@TexChik I've yet to hear the greenies explain how raising taxes & utility bills cures "climate change"... 🤔
