That's how we let the military destroy Ulu Palakua in Hawaii. It's not like you can stop them.

No executive order can prevail over state environmental laws.
This executive order will apply to states that do not have such laws unfortunately.
This executive order will apply to states that do not have such laws unfortunately.
The statement highlights a fundamental aspect of the relationship between federal executive orders and state laws, particularly concerning environmental regulations.
Federal and State Law Dynamics
State Sovereignty: States have the authority to enact and enforce their own environmental laws, which can sometimes be stricter than federal regulations. These state laws cannot be overridden by an executive order if they are in conflict; federal law typically does not prevail in such cases.
Application of Executive Orders: An executive order will apply to states lacking robust environmental laws, potentially leading to a patchwork of regulations. States with existing laws that offer stronger protections may not be affected by such orders, as their laws remain intact.
This situation creates an interesting dynamic where states with weaker environmental regulations might be influenced by federal actions, while those with stronger laws maintain control over their environmental policies.

@Convivial Ok this exemption may affect power plants already on military bases. Such as the one in San Onofre (SONGS).
Yet making new nuclear power plants on military bases would take decades to even make. The cost would be prohibitive as well.
