Why wouldn't they? Maxwell could easily diffuse a lot of pressure and serve up ammunition against Trump's enemies.
Trump has plenty of "cards to play" with her in terms of her SCOTUS writ, not to mention a pardon or clemency.
It would almost seem foolish not to offer her something in exchange for her cooperation.
