Technically, she said there is an Epstein file which we knew already.
Do you think Epstein kept a list of names with the age of the girl they had sex with and how much he blackmailed them for? Like the guy in Casino who kept receipts?

@LeopoldBloom My guess would be video tapes

@KunsanVeteran I first heard that theory in Slate. They had calculated Epstein's wealth and income, and concluded that he couldn't possibly have earned it from the jobs he had. I'm not a forensic accountant so I have no idea if they were on target or not. So the conclusion was that he filmed his guests having sex with minors, then blackmailed them. However, there's no proof of this, it's just speculation.

@LeopoldBloom I have absolutely no doubt that Epstein video taped his “quests” at his mansion for multiple reasons—and certainly blackmail ranks very high on that list.
With Epstein dead (whether by suicide or murder), I have often wondered “what became of those tapes?”
The most obvious answer would seem to be that Maxwell knows. There may be others highly placed in the Epstein hierarchy who may have access to the tapes or at least knowledge of them but I don’t know enough to speculate.
My gut feeling is that tRUMP knew that there were tapes but I doubt Epstein would trust him enough to know where they were stored. The highly sleazy world of Epstein & tRUMP isn’t conducive to building/maintaining trust.
It’s the old “keep your friends close and your enemies closer” routine.
But a video tape of tRUMP having sex with a minor would be earth shattering and would explain a lot…

@KunsanVeteran When the FBI raided Epstein's New York apartment and Little Saint James Island, that was during the first Trump administration. Is it possible that the tapes and other evidence were destroyed at that time? This would answer the question, if the evidence incriminates Trump, why Biden didn't release it. By the time he got there, it was long gone.
Again, I'm not saying there is any evidence or that there ever was. I have no way of knowing that. What I'm seeing is a story on right wing media that mushroomed, and wasn't countered because it was favorable to Trump.
What I can't figure out is why Trump allowed the FBI statement last week. All he had to do is keep saying "we are putting together a blockbuster case, the likes of which no one has ever seen before" and his base would have bought it until he was safely out of office. My guess is that Bongino or some other higher-up was about to make a statement that there is nothing actionable, and Trump decided to jump the gun in an effort to control the narrative.

@LeopoldBloom Good thoughts. I am trying to approach this as “how would Epstein protect himself” knowing full well the powerful & evil people he was blackmailing?
I suspect that there certainly were tapes, I suspect that there were multiple copies of those tapes and that they were secreted away to vaults in multiple countries. They were probably encoded and protected by robust physical security measures. Epstein was a multi millionaire, if not billionaire, and he and Maxwell had security that rivaled that of world leaders.
Epstein’s downfall—like tRUMP’s—was his arrogance. That is what makes me believe that there is more evidence out there, somewhere.
And it will be the “atomic bomb” of loaded guns. More than adequate to take down the stupidest POTUS and a British prince, and who knows how many others if it ever comes to light…

@KunsanVeteran Again, we don't know if Epstein was blackmailing anyone. I believe he committed suicide as he was despondent over the prospect of life in prison.
If he had been blackmailing people, Maxwell would have made a deal to avoid prison and would have gone into witness protection.
Blackmail also doesn't always work. If the person is rich and powerful enough, and not particularly famous (or even if they are), they could react with "fine, go ahead and release the tapes, and then I will tell law enforcement who provided the girl to me."

@LeopoldBloom You are correct that we don’t know. But given the reactions of tRUMP and his misadministration, it is ripe ground to speculate. And Epstein was much, much smarter than tRUMP. He found tRUMP to be a valuable asset as Mar a Lago was one of his recruiting sites of vulnerable teenage girls attracted to money.
tRUMP, as criminals go, certainly doesn’t rank in the highest percentile of intelligence—after all, he stolen troves of Top Secret documents and rather clumsily “hid” them at Mar a Lago and even openly shared them with his quests. Epstein would never have been so careless.
Then there’s Maxwell. Her actions going all the way back have been very calculated and cagey, but she certainly has information she could use against tRUMP and even someone as dumb as him knows it!

@KunsanVeteran If Maxwell had more information, she would have made a deal with the Biden administration.
What I can't figure out is why Trump allowed Bondi to make the announcement of "nothing to see here, move along." He usually has a good grasp of how his base will react. He must have known they would lose their shit. What he should have done is stalled by saying "we are putting together a huge case, the biggest case anyone has ever seen" and they would have accepted that.
