This is a very normal and perfectly healthy way to show support for a major political figure
Jesus would wear one too!

Ear bandages - a "sign of love"

[media=https://youtu.be/_UNvhWDXHIU]

It reminds me of the Blackadder episode when people start wearing artificial cosmetic warts to show their love for the Scarlet Pimpernel / Scarlet Pimple

Just gonna leave this here...

@SumKindaMunster Ok fine I had forgotten that 🤦‍♀️

Although it wasn't to show love of the pink-hatted leader, but as a point of protest. It's 100% just as ridiculous but not a messianic-following type action? (Or if it is, it's of an idea not a person)

@Lhayezee It's a bunch of believers virtue signaling their support by wearing an item that indicates their beliefs.

How is that different from the Trump people?
Lhayezee · 26-30, F
@SumKindaMunster The bandage wearers (at least the ones in the video, and doubtless the Guardian would find the loopiest vox pops they can, to be fair to everyone) explicitly say they're wearing them because they "love" Trump.

Which is fine, of course, if that floats their boats. But it's more than just a sign of solidarity, whether after an awful event or in protest about a cause.

A MAGA hat is a great sign of solidarity and I think the perfect equivalent to the ridiculous pink hats (though not as stupid looking as the pink ones, and also being genuinely amazing branding, whoever started it). If the convention was a complete sea of red hats it would be completely understandable (little cult-of-personality-like, but still completely understandable)

Unnecessarily bandaging your own ear just because a political leader has done it? Maybe it's just because I'm British but it's kind of weird - and we have some riotously eccentric supporters of the monarchy.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Lhayezee That may just be your existing biases. The UK has a really scorching case of TDS in my experience, the media there really hates Trump and his supporters.

It IS weird. But plenty of people are weirder. I don't think this is anything exclusive to Trump supporters.
Lhayezee · 26-30, F
@SumKindaMunster It's not because they're doing it in relation to Trump, it's anyone!

I'd agree though mad acts aren't at all exclusive to Trump supporters.
