Not really supposed to work that way, although the corrupt Supreme Court has ditched the notion of standing.
@Bumbles There are some cases where the appeals can move from the State to the Federal system. If our judicial system hadn’t been broken by tRump, this case would not be one. He can’t appeal until after he is sentenced and then he has 30 days to appeal. The first appeal is to the Intermediate Court in NY. When he loses there, it will go to the Appeals Court of NY. Ordinarily when he loses there it would end his appeals (unless he directly appealed to the Governor and she would not take the case).

However it can jump to the Federal system and the SCOTUS could decide to take the case. If they did it would be a blatant abuse of their authority. tRump had an infinitely fair trial and was found guilty by the unanimous verdict of his peers. He can try to appeal jury selection (he’d lose because his defense team had equal share in the selection), the venue (he’d lose), incompetent counsel (if he’d listened to them he’d have fared better than he did), and a host of other things, but Judge Merchan was very fair and impartial so he’d almost certainly lose any appeal based on merits of the case.

@KunsanVeteran I think the federal law aspect makes it vulnerable and then I think it's over. The Supreme Court will definitely overturn.
