@BohemianBabe Tankies ain't communist, aside from taking the symbol. They're just contrarians whose entire belief is condensable in "West bad". If the west switched to a leftwing framework, they'd take up brown shirts and Celtic crosses and claim they were never left of center to begin with, and that the west sucks because it is.

@Elessar Those people end up siding with Tankies just because they're anti-west contrarians. But there are also Tankies like Xi Jinping, who are ideologically authoritarian and use leftist imagery.
Modern Russian Authoritarianism is kinda weird in that it's fascist, they're reactionary and use right-wing imagery, but they also embrace their Soviet heritage and will praise Lenin and Stalin, just because the Soviet Union was a military power that was on the winning side of WWII.
