Because he was crazy and couldn't shut up, and based on his statements he clearly doesn't understand the law nor does he care about attempting to learn it...
Get a real Republican, that actually understand the Constitution, the laws and actually wants to follow them... and not make up rules as they go.

@Viper My whole family are yellow dog democrats, my grandfather quit work Dept of highway) with only a few days left until his retirement with pension because a republican was elected governor and he wouldn't work for a republican. When I voted for Reagan in 1984, I thought I was going to have to fight my older brothers before going back home from the polling place.
