Will Cannon fire Dearie?

She reserved her right to do so, without cause, and "You can't have your cake and eat it too" is a pretty clear indication that he's not treating Trump as a special litigant.

Normally, it would make no sense, but this is no normal litigation and she's already shown she's no normal judge.

Maybe she's waiting to get instructions from Trump?

Does anyone even find that surprising to consider?

I don’t think she can do that, but like you I wouldn’t be surprised at anything.
@BackyardShaman She can, according to her judgment appointing him. Whether she can do it while it's on appeal is a different issue, but my guess is she still has jurisdiction since the DOJ didn't appeal Dearie's appointment.
