Is there a good faith jury for Trump?

@Thinkerbell lol. Good faith wouldnt be the issue for me, nor probably would they have to dig for social media posts.

TBH, the thing with this whole mess is, Trump will never face a jury for 1/6, and the public isn't going to be swayed much either, IMO by these shenanigans.

But I wouldn't put it past Garland to stage a show trial against Trump in October of this year.
Democrats have nothing else to run on.

@Thinkerbell Garland may indict Trump, for obvious reasons, and also because he is bitter at not being on the Supreme Court. If the charges weren't tossed for lack of evidence, which they should be, the trial wouldn't be until after the GOP takes Congress. And there would be a huge fight over where the trial would be held because Trump could never get a fair trial in Washington.

In that case the GOP base would demand Garland's impeachment and probably Biden's and maybe Kamala's as well. Obviously they would be acquitted, but what a spectacle we would be in for and the division in the country will be at a Civil War type low. Looking forward to it.

@Thinkerbell I hear you, but there's no time for a trial. He could maybe do a grand jury and a peep walk for show, but that would be worse then a trial.

Best (or worst) I can see Garland doing is probably some quick indictments by September.

@eli1601 Hell if I know. I think I started by saying that I didn't think Garland had the balls to charge, and if he did, it couldn't happen that fast.

It wouldn't matter how fast it happened, as long as it started shortly before the November elections.
Then there would be daily front-page stories in the NY Times and the WaPo (and of course the television media) assuring us that Garland had the goods on Trump, "according to [unnamed] sources close to the investigation," all for the purpose of influencing the mid-term elections.

We already went through this kind of charade with the Mueller investigation and the 2018 mid-terms. 🙄

@Thinkerbell Most of that will probably happen unless Garland makes a statement he's not going to charge anyway, though.

Plus, there's Fulton County and New York.

It is going to seem like a replay in the press, for sure.

I am cynical about the outcome of this hearing politically. I get the idea, that there are still voters out there somewhere that can be persuaded, in addition to the supposed "fact finding" by Congress thing, but I really doubt there's much new to come out and it seems unlikely that these people will tune in to see it.

They may not tune in to watch the Schiff circus, but (as you have already pointed out) there will be a selective replay in the MSM news summaries, and you can be sure they will do their best to help the Democrats in the mid-terms as much as they possibly can.
