I respect your right to vote for who you want and am just giving a view from outside of the US.
This election is making America look ridiculous, neither candidate looks like they should be running the country but Trump looks dangerous.
Terms like American democracy is dead, is being used and the instability, from outside, is worrying. A lot of people can understand the rise of Chinese power and countries 'swooping' sides.
I hope it works out either way but the Chinese partnership is looking a lot more palatable than the American at the moment.
Please don't shoot the messenger but I know that Americans very rarely look at how they are seen by the rest of the world.

Thanks for offering your perspective. It's always interesting to hear about how the rest of the world sees us, and it's true, we rarely think about that. I do think that America has lost a lot of respect around the world, and not just during this election season. From what I've heard, we were much more respected back in the 1980's, and we seem to have steadily lost the respect of other countries around the world since then.

@TeresaRudolph71: I agree, I grew up in the period where America led the way as was perceived to act in the best interest of the 'free' world. Since then it changed to be in their own best interest, which I don't have a problem with as this is why countries were formed in the first place; to look after their own. More recently it seems more about big business than what's best for their own nation and others. It seems to be a rich class of people looking after theirselves than the common American and their everyday problems. The country seems to have lost its Christian values and the care of people it once had!

Thank you for your post. I agree with you....this has been the most difficult election by far....but as you stated Hillary Clintin frightens me to be our commander and chief.
He has my vote

It's not ignored. The wishes of the American people are expressed through the electoral college which apportions electoral votes to the states. Since 1789. Never otherwise. Oh, yes... through Senate, House, State Legislatures, Governorships, etc.
Official state counts exist, and are certified - that's how they assign electoral voters (which is why you won't get much in the way of faithless electors, and Congress would ignore them anyways). However, no national count exists. So the popular vote doesn't exist... it can only be inferred. It's not like it's a secret how the system works, it's been the system since 1789. That's why the parties campaign on.

@Djce45: That's sweet about respecting all the presidents. We don't have, here in Canada, any equivalent to the respect considered due to the POTUS by virtue of their office. This is one of the more subtle but interesting differences between our countries. Anyway I am sure you would be able to find that respect for Hillary Clinton too if you had to!

I would have respected her, but she would be the first that I didn't actually like.
Also... on a previous comment - $7M tax break to save 1000 jobs? That's peanuts - a great deal relatively speaking, and the return will far outstrip $7M.

Thank you for posting this thread, great information. I'm sure this is the most important election in my lifetime so far. The country, and the world are spiraling. If Hillary gets in things will get a lot worse fast. If Trump gets in the U.S. will start improving!
GO TRUMP!

The only problem is he has already stated that he will run the country the same way as his business....which means for himself!
TexChik · F
@Jesterblue: geeze you Libs can't get out of your own way. Obama has run this country into the ground ... as planned, because he dislikes America and Christians and prefers a one world order . Trumps companies are profitable and dependable ... there is nothing wrong with that .
1961dave · 61-69, M
@Jesterblue: WTF for himself, no, for everyone else! For his own good he'd be better off not dealing with this presidential Shit. The only thing he wants to do for himself is to be recognized as a great president!
Cinnamon · 31-35, F
TeresaRudolph since, as you say, these good deeds of Trump's haven't been publicized in the mainstream media, can you please share your sources for them?
Cinnamon · 31-35, F
@TexChik: Btw Snopes.com tells me that most of these anecdotes about Trump's good deeds are, in fact, true.
TexChik · F
@starsslave: so you're going to ignore them in favor of the propaganda the media fills your head with?
Cinnamon · 31-35, F
@TexChik: No, I'm not. I'm going to take them into account along with a lot of other information that I try to verify and think about. That's what they teach me to do in the elite liberal university. But as to what "the media" tells me being propaganda, what's your evidence?

SW-User
Right on! You couldn't be more correct!

If the left media is opposing too much about a person then he/she is definitely going right.
