Could Mr. Trump grant himself "general absolution" for everything, even things he has not yet been accused of?

@helenS i think from what was reported on his beloved BBC today he isplanning to do exactly that.

@billstickers All people are equal before the law, but some people are more equal than others. 😕

@helenS He can not pardon himself from state crimes

@TJNewton Thank you! 🌷
I had to google this; I had no idea:
'A "federal crime" is one that is prosecuted under federal criminal law and not under state criminal law under which most of the crimes committed in the United States are prosecuted.'

@helenS He his going down for a very long time just like i predicted the Biden Landslide election victory when no one else did i now predict the rest of his miserable life will be in prison or the nuthouse the second he leaves the whitehouse

@TJNewton You do not like him very much don't you! 😁

@helenS If he tries to pardon himself, any federal prosecutor can challenge it because there's a clause in the constitution that one can't be a judge or jury in their own case, and by issuing a pardon, he'd be acting as just that. Those strict constructionists, the Scalia-modeled originalists would have to invalidate the pardon or be exposed as the grossly political hacks they are. There's be a whole host of consequences to that.
