@OwnerOfMany There’s a failure to communicate here! I’m from Texas! I have a license to carry! I believe in my 2nd amendment right! What all the hoo ha’s about are the military style weapons!!! Full auto! Even hunters don’t need that!
@Shewolfiie69 Ar-15s are not full auto neither are the civilian AK47s, Full autos have been illegal since the mid 80s and even then you had to have license to posses one and the cost was enormous, AR-15 are no more than a .223 semi-auto rifle. We BOTH have license to carry and I hate to disagree with you but hunters do use them. especially on wild hogs and coyotes.
@OwnerOfMany Ok, I must confess that I’m not knowledgeable about all firearms here. We may have to make adjustments?! Don’t the military usually use these types of weapons?
@Shewolfiie69 The military version IS capable of full auto or what is called 3 round burst fire. There is a switch on the side that selects "SAFE"and "FIRE", those are the only positions on an AR-15, on the M-16 military there is a third position for full auto. We always called it a "giggle switch". The rifles are similar in appearance and contain some of the same parts but they are different. There is NO SUCH THING AS full semi auto, that is a BS term the media came up with to make it sound bad...just like "assault rifle". AR stands for Armalite Rifle.
@OwnerOfMany I thank you for the info.! I use to know a gunsmith ( highly illegal!) that made semi’s into full autos... we use to have too many wild hogs behind our house!

@Shewolfiie69 I am not trying to be a prick, but I would like to give you something to consider when thinking about how the media portrays the AR-15. The Vegas shooter fired over 1100 rounds directly into a crowd of roughly 20,000. He HIT 481 people and only killed 59. If the round was as lethal as it is portrayed by the media, the death toll would have been well over 200. 59 is 59 too many but it could have been much worse if he had used an AR-10 or some similar caliber.
@Shewolfiie69 There are already too damn many gun laws on the books as is. They are wasting time and money even talking about more. I have not heard the first HALF reasonable suggestion out of any politician yet. A buy back will not work, confiscation will not work, it is time to leave the damn GUNS alone and go after the people. If a guy kills a bunch of people, hang him, if he obtained the gun from anywhere but a gun shop, hang them. Stop plastering his name and pic all over the news, turn him into nobody. You can't stop any of the killing by taking guns from law abiding citizens, that is just stupid. Another point NOBODY ever mentions. One of the mani reasons the US has never been invaded is because everybody has a gun! In WWII the Japanese were not afraid of our military, they were afraid of out citizens. Most of the killing in the US is in major cities with strict gun laws committed by gangs and usually with handguns. IF we give up the AS-15s, the government will not stop there, believe me.
