I Hope Donald Trump Doesn't Get Elected President

Donald Trump is easy to understand. If someone criticizes him, he hits back -- typically viciously and personally. He never apologizes--never admits a mistake. (Something his notorious mentor advised him when he was starting out.) He creates chaos and then, when he puts an end to the chaos he caused, claims credit for solving the problem. He uses power and a superior negotiating position to extract concessions from his adversaries--then calls himself a true master of negotiation who knows "the art of the deal". He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and doesn't understand those who achieve success through their own hard work. The only world leaders he wants to work with are those who praise him and avoid any criticism of him. He is misogynistic. Instead of expanding his base of white conservatives, he foments hatred toward other groups--including minorities, immigrants, and liberal Democrats because it will motivate his base and besides, he knows (correctly) that he can never expect votes from these groups.

Unlike nearly all Republican members of Congress, I cannot ignore his personal failings and focus instead on his policies--many of which I support -- because his personal approach toward governing is antithetical to me. I also believe that we have a responsibility to speak out against such leaders lest we acquiesce to a government that aims to exclude large swathes of citizens from having a voice.

Unfortunately, he DID win, never in my lifetime did I dream we would see the end of Democracy in the US. I'm not especially smart but even I can see this man is a malignant sociopath.

I feel sorry for the youth of today. Not only because of the politics but our environment is a catastrophe!
