Poll: Most say Trump should be impeached if he pardons himself

USA Today
June 19, 2018

President Trump has said that he has the "absolute" right to pardon himself.

Americans disagree.

By more than 3-1, 64 percent to 18 percent, those surveyed in a USA Today/Suffolk University Poll say the president doesn't have the power to pardon himself.

Even Republicans are inclined to split with Trump on this.
Only 29 percent say he has the power to pardon himself, 45 percent say he doesn't.

Trying to do so could spark a constitutional crisis for the White House.
58 percent of Americans, including 31 percent of Republicans, say the House of Representatives should impeach the president if he pardons himself.

No one should be above the law...
@walabby Our president is so used to being his own law in the corporate world. I’m not sure he realises how the government is supposed to be different.

@bijouxbroussard I suspect that you are right. The next two years is going to get even more "interesting" as it goes...

@walabby The next 4 & 1/2 months should be interesting as well (Midterm elections)
@Drummer Whoa, only 4 &1/2 months. That will be here soon. 😳

@Drummer Yes. I had forgotten about them. Shall the Democrats win some seats, or lose more...? I wonder what the bookmakers say about it?
@walabby Some races are too close to call.
