I Do Personally Not Like Obamacare

Affordable?... I like the idea of a universal health care system but I don't like the way this one was put together. I think they should have put more thought into it before messing with other people's healthcare.

I Believe Obama wants it to work. He is asking many others that have to work the Plans out (In my mind are those that want to mess it up (On Purpose) to make it look like it doesn't work.) (I believe there are a lot of (Insiders trying to twist the whole thing up (So it does and can Fail), I believe too many people (Working on this) are against it, are trying to make it (Fail). (I say we need more people to get their (Act together) and quit having a Bias on Obama.) (Like Mutiny when the Captain ask their crew to do something, but the crew refuses to (Obey) and do things in "Antithesis" to what is Asked for. People will not follow Obama's wishes if it isn't working (In my mind). (I think it maybe our Country is in a (Cold Civil War) and things are in Acts of (What many are not being aware of about it.)

When it passed he had a democratic house and senate. He could have still had his way if that was what he is trying to do.

No, I doubt that. He had some big thorns in his side from the very beginning.

If you recall, the Democrats in the House weren’t able to pass their version of a Healthcare law. Because all revenue bills have to originate in the House of Representatives, the Senate found a bill that met those qualifications: HR3590, a military housing bill. They took out essentially all of the wording of it, and turned it into the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Obamacare. It gets better. The Senate at that time had 60 Democrats, just enough to pass Obamacare. After the bill passed the Senate tho, Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy died. In his place, Massachusetts elected Republican Scott Brown. That meant that, if the House made any changes to the bill, the Senate wouldn’t have the necessary number of votes to pass the corrected bill, since they knew no Republicans would vote for Obamacare. So they made a deal with the Democrat controlled House of Representatives: the House would pass the Senate bill without any changes, IF the Senate agreed to pass a separate bill by the House that made changes to the Senate version of Obamacare. This second bill was called the Reconciliation Act of 2010. It made a bunch of detail changes, and added some things. So the House passed PPACA, the Senate bill, as well as their Reconciliation Act. So now PPACA was ready for the President to sign, but the Senate still needed to pass the Reconciliation Act from the House. Confused yet? Now, remember that the Senate only had 59 votes to pass the Reconciliation Act since Republican Scott Brown replaced Democrat Ted Kennedy. In order to pass the Reconciliation Act, therefore, the Democrats in the Senate decided to change the rules. They declared that they could use the “Reconciliation Rule”—this is a different “reconciliation” than the House bill now. This rule was only used for budget item approval, so that budget items could be passed with only 51 votes in the Senate, not the usual 60. This rule was never intended to be used for legislation of the magnitude of Obamacare. Too bad…they used it anyway. So then both of the “Acts” passed both houses of Congress and were then signed by President Obama. All done by Democrats without a single Republican vote in favor of it. To quote Democrat Rep. Alcee Hastings of the House Rules Committee during the bill process: “We’re making up the rules as we go along”. They certainly couldn’t have made this law without it.

The senate shut down government to try to kill the bill and ended up failing miserably only to burden the debt with another 24 billion. Now you have all the politicians pointing fingers at each other for the blame instead trying to work together to make it better. It's f*cking sad.
SW-User
Yes. I am neither republican or democrat. I just look and find information. They both need to grow up and find solutions.
winchester64
... another thing. What they won't mention is that the politicians all that shut down government and basically took money out of the wages of those that work menial labor under the state never lost a single dime from their own salaries.

That is how government works. I like how they never called it a "full" government shut down. They called it a "partial" government shutdown. The politicians are as safe as can be. If they lose their job in congress they go into business and corrupt things there.

I seen this new video clip. I just think the Media doesn't want everyone to know he still stands for what he said. {??-><-??} I haven't really heard what is yet still becoming and happening now, but I just think its (Hysteria) then a genuine outcome the world is making of this. (But I am not watching or paying attention to this stuff).

I like the idea of Obamacare :( He deserves a chance to make it work because Republicans always oppose everything he does just for the sake of it.

The idea of an affordable and good healthcare system is not what I am attacking. It's what Obama put out that I don't like. If you read my other story, I don't support either party. I just simply find and research. I am not taking Republicans off the hook on this either even though it seems like I tend to bash the president. The idea is nice but the outcome is what I don't like.

Yeah I just read your other story too! I understand~

every human being has the right to health care access no matter why, what, when, where or how...

Sis! I believe in healthcare for everyone but that is not what this is about. Obama as shown above said that people will not lose their insurance and cost would go down. As you see the exact opposite happened. Also, penalizing people so much for not being able to afford this is not a good idea either. Why penalize someone if they had insurance and what he put out took that insurance away from them. It's not that persons fault. There are people who can't afford the cost of what he is offering.

I am for universal healthcare, just not for what Obama put out. Mitt Romney, a republican, did very well in his state of Massachusetts that got and 84% approval rating. Why didn't Obama take what he did and put it on a bigger scale? The law Obama put out was based on republican ideas but he did not follow what the republicans did to make it work.

sweety luv... you will always have pro's and con's in all. I usually use the term *a medal has 2 sides* in my country we all have access and we all pay via our highest taxes imposed in all America includes central and south america
SW-User
I don't mind paying for it from my tax like work does. Depending on your insurance and how much you earn, they take a certain amount out to keep you covered. That would be fine. But it is not what this law does. And for people who lose a job they can be covered for a certain amount of time like welfare checks. After a few months or couple of years, they can be covered while looking for a job. This would not be a bad idea.

Obamacare is a result of the insurance lobby. How could it be better for the people.
