I Wonder Why People Hate Hitler

leadership is nothing more than a brief run of the ego ...by well informed individuals limited by the  freewill of others
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@rain.. if you order someone to be killed, or tortured, or experimented on .. then YOU are responsible.. it matters not who does the actual killing.. Hitler ordered it..if i hire a hit man to kill someone who is going to jail? will i be scot free.. he gets away with it cos he only ordered, and threatened people to do it? see this is what i worry about with younger people.. esp from certain countries.. they arent being taught what happened.. they hear half truths.. and the worse thing is this causes them to forget and to underplay what happened.. which is inexcusable as we cannot forget what happened - to forget is to forget the lessons learned.
Hitler causes suffering to millions of Jews, he caused deaths of innocent people. Just as importantly he caused the death and humiliation of his own people.. people who for many years were deeply ashamed of what happened..
As to GOD well jeeze people.. he isnt real.. he is fiction.. that doesn't make it ok but it isnt like we can hate GOD cos he supposedly *orders* or influences people to kill each other.. he isnt real people! Hate him if you like but you may as well hate Alice in Wonderland, or SPiderman!
PS Rain.. i know you are young and all but please don't insult me by using capital letters at me.. there is no need. I am well aware that he ordered rather than killed.. but as i say it makes no difference..

@Jeffie.. you are making too much of the word hate.. i dont think anyone, in reality, hates Hitler - we hate what he did.. Try talking to those who lost family. . try talking to those who lost their whole family.. try talking to those who watched family die.. there are less and less of those who actually saw this first hand now but that doesnt mean we can forget.. Before we attempt to glorify and excuse Hitler, (and i am not saying the original poster did that) we must take the trouble to learn.. to research.. Read about Anne Frank's story, how she lost her mother, how she watched her sister die in terrible conditions, malnourished, in unhygenic conditions and then how she died herself. We cannot imagine that.. but we should.. BTW just out of interest.. I am not Jewish - i am just a human being... and we are taught about the Holocaust here in our country, i know some arent taught this now.. My daughter was taught .... I asked her about a post on EP where some doughnut made a crass comment about Anne Frank.. something like who was this Anne Frank bitch anyway and they went on to say she was just a person who was killed. It's so crass to disrespect that Anne Frank was the story of many millions.. and in any event she was a human being.. enough that one family suffered as she did, as her family did but to know that it represents millions mustnt be forgotten

oh come on... the man ordered thousands of innocent people's deaths! He was a mad man... he was a hypochondriac... and as i say he murdered, tortured and persecuted thousands and thousands of innocent people..
He also wasnt a good leader.. he made bad decisions which ultimately cost him the war and which caused humiliation for his people.. hardly someone to respect or admire.
However, that said... your sentiments that leadership is a brief run of the ego is correct.. in many or most cases.. but in Hitler's case we can hate him because of what his brief run of the ego did to innocent people..

Thanks Daydream, i fully agree, we musn't ever forget what had happened. What i did with the hate thing was a reduction inabsurdium. In a public place, and with a touchy subject, anything that isn't outright denouncing the subject matter is gonna spark an interest at least.

A great half hour film Night and Fog i suggest seeing on the topic of the holocaust, directed by Alain Resnais, made only a decade after the event.

You can't seriously be defending him? It's completely irrelevant who has killed more or how other people have died through tragic circumstances, diseases etc.

Well said adreambeliever, to make light of hitler and the holocaust reflects total ignorance, sorry if that sounds harsh but I can't think of another word!

Hey, Hitler only killed a few million, look at how many God killed. We should all hate God a heck of a lot more than Hitler.
