Okay, let me preface this by saying that I didn’t really have anything on my grocery list for this particular store.

Just thought I’d go check if they had any deals I may have missed in the ad. Welp.

All I had was four bag of chips in my head, which I decided to get at another store…and noe that I’m looking back on it I didn’t even get.

Dude. 🙄

Anyway, I ended up getting more than I thought I would, which I’m not awfully mad about because it’s just classic me. But the kicker is as I was checking out my favorite cashier at the grocery store, who is an elderly woman, greeted me with a “darlin’” and when I left, she threw a “Bye, beautiful,” my way 🥹.

So, in that moment where she made me speechless as I blushed, I realized I went in there for exactly what I needed. I just didn’t know it beforehand.

I typically go for sale items and mark downs. Always head straight to the meat section first. I call reduced items, used meats. I've been pretty good with it. I try not to impulse buy, but every now and then...

@JohnnyNoir That’s how my dad was. We were on such a tight budget he had no choice to try to make a dollar stretch. I bought ground beef today on clearance because I can’t bring myself to spend $8/lb on it. That’s ridiculous to me.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart I just got back from a grocery run. Best meat deal was on chicken breasts. Was looking for a nice roast for the crockpot to cook Saturday as it's supposed to be cool and rainy. Settled for black eyed peas and got a nice ham hock to season it and eat too.
