A beautiful example of resilience and another generations values 🖤

I'm lucky enough that I still get to work with my one senior. She is 99 years old and just moved into assisted living. The family has asked me to stay on and help her/be with her because she really likes me.

Her first day in assisted living she was freaked out. She didn't believe she belonged there because a lot of other seniors are much worse off than her. She is struggling a bit but for 99 she's incredible. She was a nurse for 40+ years and without me saying anything she found her way to the conclusion that she could help people.

She goes to each person, the seniors and the staff and greets, checks in and says something sweet. She helps other seniors and speaks to everyone like a friend.

Even in her limited capacity, mind and body, she found it in her heart and soul to choose kindness and giving.

She inspires me and I'm so thankful I spoke up and got her away from her abusive husband. She still misses him, but she is blossoming. She is beautiful and I feel immensely fortunate to be a part of her life.

And you are amazing for making the tough decision to make the call.

You changed her life 💙💙💙

@caccoon I tried to do the right thing and it was scary to do it for someone else. But I'm so glad it worked out.

I guess it proves it's never too late to change 🖤 if she can get out of a toxic relationship at 99 and find her way again, that sends a strong message. And to be willing to put her energy into helping others after all she went through, I just had to share such good news because it's really given me some new life also 🖤
