It has given power to a people who might have felt like they had little or no power to begin with, even if their trolling has a negative result. Being anonymous or having the appearance of being anonymous on the Internet is usually the first step to people feeling bolder to perform actions they wouldn't otherwise perform in real life. The targets of trolling may react in many different ways from being: more angered, more wary of trusting others, or more likely to not take part in discussion in the future. Overall it seems set up to split and divide us all apart.
