The reciprocity princple
Mindful · 56-60, F
@OogieBoogie I think you're the third person to say this. Thank you. It tells me it must have been taught in a class somewhere..and that it was worth exploring
@Mindful i only learnt about it thru studying up on human behavior and psychology myself.

I do think we are taught it subliminally as we grow up tho.

I call it being human...

The feelings you experience when someone does something sweet and it makes you want to return the kindnes, or give even more, is often called “reciprocal kindness” and can be described as being motivated by empathy and affection.

When a person shows thoughtfulness, kindness, or sweetness, it can trigger a natural emotional reaction in the recipient a desire to reciprocate and return similar positive feelings and energy.

It's like a sweetness compulsion feeling compelling one to match and amplify someone’s sweet gestures.
In essence, this reaction is grounded in human social instincts for connection and mutual care. It reflects your desire to enhance shared positivity and emotional bonds.

It’s called ‘pride’. Sorry, but that’s true.
Daisy57 · 56-60, F
@Noworries72 interesting take. So how is it pride if you give a person something or treat take a certain way that is positive. And it begets a similar outcome back to you or toward someone else. Pride in my view is boastful and loud declaration it is all about me and nothing about you. I am just trying to understand your thought
Noworries72 · 51-55, M
@Daisy57 I understand this, because I do it all the time. The hardest thing in the world is to accept kindness. There’s an impulse in decent people to balance our accounts in life.
Noworries72 · 51-55, M
I think it’s wonderful, btw.
WHAT IS THIS DISGUSTING DISPLAY OF WHOLESOME FUCKERY?!
SOMEONE IS NICE TO YOU AND SUDDENLY YOU WANT TO FEED THEM CAKE AND MAKE THEIR LIFE BETTER?!

ABSOLUTELY REVOLTING.

SKELETOR APPROVES.
