More kind strangers
Today I needed to something more, since I have already gotten into the exploring mode.. I am no longer that scared to get away, or even get lost, like my first days lol. So I checked out the surrounding places, and found a butterfly conservatory that is like 1hr40 from my location. I figured I will walk it, but it looks like I underestimated it.. Normally I'd walk such distance fine, but not when I have been walking since the morning. I felt tired on the way, nevertheless, still made it just fine. I enjoyed my time looking at hundreds of beautiful butterflies flying everywhere... then when I got out, I found a message on my mobile that says: Welcome to the US! And your Canadian internet coverage has been turned off (and it was!) .
I was like, whaaaaaat? I crossed the borders!!! 🥔😱 BUT HOW! And is it really that easy!!😱 Alright, this is Karma for making fun of American falls 🥴🥔
Quickly I searched the conservatory to see where exactly it is located, but my internet was gone!! WTF, I was far with no internet, and I need the freaking map. Here I discovered that when I say that I am oblivious to my surroundings and always need a map to know where to move, it is not completely true. I probably do that because in my head I know that I have the back up so why use my brain O.o, but once I was cornered, suddenly I was able to recall the roads I came from lol. I was still walking and wondering if I was right. i just wanted to get away from the "US" apparently, to have my internet back. I was thinking the whole time, damn it, I will be on the news tomorrow, under some sort of heading, like; an illegal immigrant discovers an easy entrance into the US 🤷♀️ Trump will be pleased, something to talk about etc..
Then when my internet was back on, thankfully I realised I was on the right track, but I was too freaking tired, and stopped at restaurant on the road.
I asked the lady there; you know the conservatory? She says yea. It is in Canada, isn't it? I felt she wanted to laugh but she didn't, and told me because I got too close to the US, my internet no longer worked, but I did not cross any borders.
Then when i was on my way back (another long walk), she was driving by.. She stopped and asked me if I wanted a ride since she was headed the same direction. That was very kind, and much needed 🥴 As I told her it is nice to know that Canada can be hot, She told me how she lived in Niagara for 63 years (probably her age) and started describing how Canada has four distinct beautiful seasons, telling me about the trees changing colours in falls... and that the winters are not as bad as people make them seem, so you shovel some snow, big deal.🤷♀️ I liked her attitude lol, I just have always felt the same.. We can enjoy any season, if properly dressed and accept it as is.. It wasn't a long ride, and at the end, she welcomed me to Canada, which was kind of her.
Then I was back to the falls, and enjoyed my time in the city and the park.. I should have rested, because my feet were killing me, but I guess I wanted to get enough of it before I leave.
