@SW-User Yes! Had no choice when you miss the bus. My continuous record was at stake.

All six elementary years and all three junior high years, I technically never missed a day of school. I was a bit late.

They where very happy about that record! Though never said a word about it. It was expected, despite few ever doing it.

If I didn't get any years award, I really would have been in serious trouble!

My father was a very strict person about that.

@SW-User no. No such thing in southern California. Yet school was at least two miles away.

Worst was a light rain. Which I could hide away from for a bit.
