There is a certain kind of light that only comes from having been through a certain kind of darkness.....

This reminds me of when a painting is placed on a black wall, the colors will pop more as a result. The university’s museum has some black walls to display the collection paintings in it. I have never visited but I am sure it brings each and every painting to a higher level. You can focus on the painting better when it’s surrounded by a dark background.
