I Can Be Grateful

Looking through the feed this morning and the sadness out there
I realize, though I struggle with depression, I have a lot to be thankful for.

You'd think something more tragic than "I wish for somebody to talk to" would make your heart cry a little, but that is what prompted this post.

I complain too much and, sometimes, am to ignorant of how good I have it.

I don't need fame, riches, or hoards of admirers... I just need love, corny as that sounds.
Perhaps, it's all any of us really need and those other pursuits are a substitute for it.

Something so simple, yet so hard to have. It’s eluded me most of my life.

I find this to be helpful: “the only remedy for love is to love more.”
~ Henry David Thoreau

It helps with the pain. As Rumi said, “love is always in the lover.” I guess that’s where love resides, within ourselves.

Still, I think to receive love from others would be nourishment to many souls that would see them flourish rather than wilt through life, like a half dead flower.

They are different, but if you have friends who care then that’s a gift. @Justmeraeagain
