I Hate Ungrateful People

My tribe’s casino has been closed since March, so that means no per cap check for a while. We have been getting lots of benefits for all tribal members, yet they STILL complain about not getting a per cap check. There are other reservations out there who don’t get shit! It hasn’t even been that long since we were living in poverty to. How can they can be so ungrateful?! It pisses me off! Some of them are even elders who already get monthly elder’s per cap. I just can’t believe it! Well, at least I’m thankful for what I got and I’ve been laid off.

A good friend (my age, not exactly highly employable) lives in a small town and was very upset to learn the store where she has been office manager for ten years was closing.

She got a call Friday from another store that is opening and she was hired. The old store closes on Friday and her new job starts Monday, at better pay.

I was excited for her, and she said, "Yeah, but I was hoping for a break between jobs."

I understand what she means, but however good it is, it's never quite good enough.

We still get June but December distributions are up in the air. I mostly worry if they have enough in reserve since 60% of our budget is casino revenue.

I haven't heard anyone complain yet but I'm sure some are.

It's good to be thankful, but I'd feel guilty about getting any money from a casino. Gambling is a vice.
