@bijouxbroussard When I paid three dollars, just to get in, plus two more for skates. I sure as heck skated to everything. Including the silly hokey pokey. And "A WALK IN THE BLACK FOREST" was tolerable. I didn't like it, but I sure as heck didn't have a choice.

Five dollars was my whole week allowance. Later I just didn't get a allowance. Hence the jobs. I in fact stopped skating. It wasn't worth it to me. No I didn't go to any movies either. I was a latchkey kid for a reason.

My parents priorities were all different then most everyone else. Hence no shoes for soccer. The German teacher paid for them.

Yet a house in the desert, two new mobile homes, three new cars and a trip to Germany was just fine. And they ended up sending me there by myself!

Saying dysfunctional family is only putting it litely. Some of it was right down abusive.
