We’d kick back on the waterbed of the friend who had no sibs and a single mother who worked late. We’d toke and listen to music…

I laughed reading this. You said waterbed. 😆

Those were the days, right?
@Livingwell Yes. We thought she was so lucky to have one, but it was so uncomfortable to actually sleep on. She had a California King, so usually there were two of us spending the night with her.

@bijouxbroussard Right? I later bought one with the support built inside. I got rid of it in my late 20's.

I had a waterbed in the late 80's
@SW-User Were you able to sleep comfortably ? I eventually wrote it off as better as a concept than reality.

@bijouxbroussard I was a teenager ..it was more of a gimmick and eventually it had to go because there was a hole in it ...I don't remember to be honest if it was comfortable or not ...all i remember I just really wanted one 😂

I never partook, but I remember those songs.

These are good but I think Maggot Brain is hands down the best album ever to get stoned to
@MethDozer I don’t think I’d discovered Funkadelic yet. But one year I came back from New Orleans with an afro and an "America Eats Its Young" tee shirt, to my parents’ horror. 😏

@bijouxbroussard That album gets a lot of hate but I think it was pretty decent.
@MethDozer I think I got that album around the same time I acquired Gil Scott-Heron’s album with "Home Is Where The Hatred Is". A similar theme.
