Belling Electric Bed Warmer ca. 1964

It couldn't very well not work; all it is is a 40 watt tungsten bulb inside a 'flying saucer' pressed steel case painted in a peculiar limeflower colour. It's an old family possession. (I put a new cable on it btw...)

The red light (actually the heating bulb showing through a tiny window) illuminates when it's plugged in

The inner workings; note the warning about the wattage. You want your bed to be nice and toasty, not toast.

Disassembly doesn't require a manual.

Handy to have in winter! ☺

If I remember it was a 60 watt light bulb it could be operated on a timer, pity they don't make them today, and why not I ask.

@senghenydd I managed to get hold of a small supply of 40-watt bulbs. They don't make sense for any other application, but when you need heat... ☺

@senghenydd The straight answer is they generated more heat than light. A bit like a lot of the posts on here (including mine). 😂
