Dead to the world, alive to the kindle

In recent posts i mentioned how i'd narrow the focus on certain things, but i must repudiate such foolishness, i must not try to fit chunks of the sources for a time period, it must all be in the mix with no end in sight, certainly some things are reserved for later, but a general allness is ratified here in plain english.

There is no set order the sources are approached, all in good time is the motto, it really is the only way, and to give the sense of it is like centering on a certain kind of thing then going back go some things its been awhile being inside of, and then less often but still regularly some things from a different kind altogether.

In the Christian resources there are the following blocks of kinds listed here from perceived voluminosity:

1. Commentaries, the biblical illustrator old testament alone is larger than all of the patristics, so all the commentaries together must be the most there is, and the collecting is just beginning for recent scholarship volumes.

2. The Puritans and the Reformed in general

3. The Patristics

4. Catholicism -i separate this from the previous segment to indicate that Protestants celebrate the above as well, and this segment here is from the Roman Catholic Church specific

The biggest other kinds:

1. Classic fiction

2. Philosophy

3. Modern fiction

4. Buddhism

5. Controversial literature

Yep, i need some sleep before i can continue this ongoing niaserie

From the NIV Application commentary for Genesis – a shared knowledge makes communication possible, this points to the permanent awkwardness of communication i have, it is not really having that shared knowledge, my manner of approaching learning is my own and not like others as far as i know, definitely not like anyone i ever find myself in company with. I consciously choose to be different, i don’t really want to communicate with others, rather would i commune with the dead, and let them do all the talking, and since i need to say some things that is where SW comes in, in my purified, higher use of it, i am just talking out loud to myself, not to, or with anyone, since each and every effort would result in misunderstandings, inescapable misunderstandings.

There is a pride i have in the kinds of resources i’ve collected and am using, and it’s not the way i should be. A need then is set in place for rudimentary works, that guide the reader (me) through a more correct approach to the subject matter that also informs the reader on how such a course should be taken, a right mindset. In my study of Christianity one such book i’ve decided on this overnight period of November 28, 2023 in J.I. Packer’s modern classic Knowing God. This is a book that i valued in the past, and the kind that inflames a love of learning in this terrain. From it one can get pumped up about reading the Puritans for example.

The heart of my study of Christianity is that it acts as a connection to my mom and dad. Having lost one and who knows when the other, i love the idea of getting into the kind of thing they were devoted to.

It is not the right way though, right in the sense that comes from that part of things, this may change as i proceed, but as it is now, i am just studying and experiencing it, now on an experiential level, of it actually being a part of your life, that part is not quite where it's at yet.

If and when i make a "decision", there would be a heightened distaste for how i have been living, a radical change going in the other direction, what repentance means.
