the white glowing disc was conscious .... it first went over heads and went out of view..... then it came back and just hovered there! Then it came closer and started to move in such a strange way , defying what I thought I knew about how things move....

That matches the case i had in Ohio from 1968. The craft in that case was 60 feet in diameter and flying autonously but appeared to stop and watch six kids playing. Then it played tag with a private plane and also flew over a bunch of cars on a bridge. Then it shot off to the NW and disappeared.
