After all I’ve been through, it’s something I look forward to. Of course I don’t mean without my kids though.

@MellyMel22 That bad huh?....That bad, huh?.....do you think you could meet someone who you can place trust in again?
MellyMel22 · F
@Renkon Very bad. Enough it likely caused a very serious medical condition that they found no reason for(I didn’t share what I’ve been through). The top 3 reasons in order are excessive alcohol and drug use and next is extreme stress. I have never been an excessive drinker and have never done any drugs. Well I did once take what my friend told me was CBD that ended up being straight THC, but that’s scared me and I never used it again 😂
It’s definitely possible that I can trust someone else, but I know that I’ll never deal with what I did ever again. I tried to protect my kids, but it made my life a living hell. I know that not everyone is the same, but I think it would take a lot for me to even live with someone again. I like my space and in my experience I didn’t get much of it- ever.

I don't know how to be happy in this world. I was really depressed during those times and always in my mind, what's the point of this world when you die, nothing comes with you anyways. Everything dies. Things will get stolen. Money is just a God of illusion for delusional. Technology is getting stupidly advanced.
Everything is fake like food for example.
I've always hated this temporary life of this world. The only way I'm Happy is Jesus Christ over this fake Kingdom of this world.

@FreestyleArt That's a frustration coming from a profound take on like.... I don’t know if it’s easy moving in life with this idea.

I’ve been single for a while. I definitely view relations like an addition like you stated. I wouldn’t mind a GF right now of course, but I’m not feeling sad or lonely due to the lack of one.

Interesting thought.
I think the nugget of truth in there is that when you are involved with someone, you begin to see them as essential. Like when you break up it wrenches your heart. Whereas, before you were in the relationship, you were somehow just fine without them.
Setting boundaries and not getting heartbroken is nice and all. But heartbreak can also be a great teacher.
As the poet Gibran writes: "Even as love crowns you, so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth, so is he for your pruning. Even as he ascends to your heights and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun, so too shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth."

That, at least for me, is a hard question to answer. I've been happy while in relationships and happy living alone.
So I think it depends on the person... who they are and not if they are alone or paired up.
Then too, what is alone? Are we ever truly alone? I've been single now for years and I don't feel alone.

I don't know. I think I'm just so happy I can be free of the stress of what people think relationships are, I'm content.
Renkon · M
@EldritchFox Are you currently not in a relationship?
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@Renkon I'm not. Relationships stress me out.

There's a difference in being happy and content. Being alone now I have learned to be content with myself. Who I lost cannot be replaced. I have accepted that but still grieve.

Only child who had a corporate job that required a lot of solo travel. I’ve been comfortable in my own company for a long time, for better or worse when it comes to connecting.

@ChampagneOnIce ....… It gives you a gentle edge as you wade through life..

Absolutely! I was an only child. I learned very early how to entertain myself.
