@guerrilla It wasnt the white majority rule that was the problem . Ian Smith who was a great man already had a black deputy priminister who he was getting ready to take over from him . However britain wanted a full black government there and then . When mugabe took over the black deputy fled for his life . Our white government were trying to ease blacks into government to stop what he warned would happen from happening . All his warnings came to frution sadly . No one outside Rhodesia knew the truth of what was really happening . 1000s of blacks fled to south africa , zambia and neighbouring countries in fear for their lives . Many fought for Rhodesia and didnt want a black government for all the reasons that happened . Yes there was a minority of racists as in every country . You shouldnt believe everything your told . I knew Ian Smith and Bishop Muzarewa . The Bishop would have made a great priminister sadly he never got the chance thanks to the uk sticking their nose where it wasnt wanted .
