WooHoo! Everyone is on board about letting me invent a class so I can land an internship!
🥳 It’s stuff like this on my résumé that will make me worth hiring after I graduate. I wish prejudice against disabled people wasn’t a thing, but it is. We have to work extra hard to prove that we can do the thing as well as everyone else.
All season I’ve been applying at different organizations , but they won’t take me on unless it’s for a class. My internship class isn’t for another 3 years. I really didn’t want to wait that long to be getting work experience
SO my department head has agreed to help me invent an ambiguous independent study class to get my foot in the door
and my financial assistance supervisor has agreed to flip the bill.
