Coincidently, on the front page of reddit right now: https://www.reddit.com/r/science/comments/4mkzrl/childrens_intelligence_mindsets_ie_their_beliefs/

@bobo the natural ability to memorise information and regurgitate it at a later date. The same intelligence the education system is built around.

I'm aware there's other kinds of intelligence like creative and even humour and people are also lucky/privileged to be born with those. But the educational system doesn't really cater to those people.

But yeah if you have great work ethic then you can achieve anything whether you're naturally intelligent or not. But that also goes for every "non-privilaged" person. (Except perhaps disabled people in some instances)

I could write far too much to answer you. *restrain* *restrain*

But anyways, I need clarification before I carry on: So what you mean by intelligence is "the natural ability to memorise information and to regurgitate it at a later date"? And what do you mean by privilege? By privilege do you mean "something we are either born with or aren't born with"? If so on both accounts, then I agree. :)

But "intelligence" and "privilege" seems to be currently thrown around loosely and with their other meanings, I would not agree with you.
@callme nah I think intelligence is genetic. Sure anyone can read and learn more stuff and put it to good use. But if you are born dumber from dumber parents then it'll be much much more difficult. It's like being born poor. You can work hard learn to deal with your surroundings and become middle class one day but it's easier if your just born middle class.

Hmmm, there's two kinds of intelligence - natural talent and hard-worked intelligence. If you are naturally talented but don't work, you might not be very clever at all. If you aren't naturally talented but work hard, then you could be very intelligent! So which kind of intelligence are you talking about?

I'm not sure that I agree. Intelligence isn't just something one is born with. You can put effort in to educate your mind and train it to do better. Most fools that I know are fools because they don't give a damn about thinking or reasoning and that is their own fault.

Perhaps but I was stupid as a child and a teenager. I became less so as I read, thought and learned. I think it is partially genetic at least, but not completely.
