something rare

I am not one to be political but as much as i disagree with most of in a small way i sort of agree with what ICE is doing to immigrants. While I think its wrong they act like thugs and shoot/kill innocent people they are deporting immigrants which is the ONLY thing they should be doing and maybe many will not see them as thugs who kill others. I am all for deporting immigrants but i am not for killing innocent citizens no matter the circumstances and for those who are pro ICE remember aside from the wrongdoings, they are doing a good job!

Your delusional
They were Somalis, not natural nor citizens so that it the connection
Out of 64 convictions, you named three people with Arabic sounding names, all of whom received US prison sentences (thus indicating they are US citizens). And that's your excuse for accusing an 84,000 person community with fraud?? And you call ME delusional???

An estimated 260,000 people of Somali descent were living in the U.S. in 2024, according to the Census Bureau's annual American Community Survey. The largest population is in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, home to about 84,000 residents, most of whom are American citizens.

... Almost 58% of the Somalis in Minnesota were born in the U.S. Of the foreign-born Somalis in Minnesota, an overwhelming majority –- 87% — are naturalized U.S. citizens. Of the foreign-born population, almost half entered the U.S. in 2010 or later, according to the Census Bureau.

They include many who fled the long civil war in their east African country and were drawn to the state's welcoming social programs.

Meanwhile,
There are approx 130,000 undocumented in Minnesota,
There are approx 2,100,000 undocumented in Texas,
There are approx 1,600,000 undocumented in Florida.
Clearly, this ain't about undocumented immigrants.

And, last point, is it so unreasonable to expect ICE to obey the laws of the land, and especially to obey court orders rather than violating 96 of them???

UPDATE: yep, tRump says let the other undocumented workers remain.

I didn't accuse anybody
As of early 2026, federal investigations into widespread fraud in Minnesota—primarily focusing on COVID-19 pandemic relief funds meant for child nutrition (Feeding Our Future) and other social service programs—have resulted in over 60 to 80 convictions, with a majority of those charged being of Somali descen
TheMinnesota Department of Human Services(DHS) has mobilized160 employeesto conduct site reviews for nearly6,000 providersby summer 2026.
@pdockal You are basing your numbers on just one case, the "Feeding Our Future" case.

According to the GAO,
... Among these programs, three stood out as the most commonly defrauded: Unemployment Insurance, the Paycheck Protection Program, and the COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. So just how much money was involved? And what happened to those who committed fraud?

Over $300 billion in fraudulent payments. We estimated fraud for unemployment insurance programs between $100-135 billion from April 2020 through May 2023. The Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Inspector General reported about $200 billion in potentially fraudulent pandemic-relief loans under the Paycheck Protection Program and the COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan program.

https://www.gao.gov/blog/fraud-and-its-consequences-who-steals-federal-programs-and-whats-cost

You are focusing on less than a tenth of a percent of the total pandemic era fraud, while ignoring the other 99.9%. That's the worst case of cherry-picking I've ever seen!!!

@ElwoodBlues

Your mixing things up
Your muddying the waters to suit your narrative

My narrative hasn't changed
Deport ILLEGALS

I don't see the issue

Prior administrations have more then the current one

Prior administrations have used Clinton's illegal alien act
@pdockal says
My narrative hasn't changed
Deport ILLEGALS

As I've said multiple times already, I'm fine with deporting the worst of the worst. I just want ICE to abide by the laws, including obtaining judicial warrants and allowing due process; not to mention allowing observers to observe, record, and report on ICE activity without getting tear-gassed as is their Constitutional right!!

The fact that ICE is NOT abiding by the laws is made evident by the 96 court orders violated by ICE in less than ONE MONTH!!!

Prior administrations have more then the current one
Prior admins adhered to the letter and spirit of the law. tRump's ICE does NOT!!

@ElwoodBlues

So the other illegals are ok ?
Why ?
How ?
There is a procedure to follow and they choose NOT to.
They receive benefits that they didn't earn
Before your panties get into a bunch
Federal benefits are limited (unless you cheat)
But states provide benefits

🤦
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues bla bla bla.....let ICE do their job and protect this country.
Tell your protest leftist friends to stay away or they may get hurt and cry, like you are
@Midlifemale I get it. In tRump's America, if you try to exercise your constitutional rights to assemble, observe, record, and report, you can expect to be brutalized.

Your message is that American citizens should be afraid to exercise their rights near ICE. We have a word in English for that process of instilling fear; can you guess what it is??

@pdockal UPDATE: yep, tRump says let the other undocumented workers remain.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues

I don't see your point

Peaceful protesting in a constitutional right
However getting involved & hindering operations isn't
But i guess your too (not sure the best word) blinded by trump hatred to understand the difference
Can you say work visas ?????
@pdockal Peaceful observers stand on the sidewalk filming ICE and get teargassed for their troubles. That's why happened right before Pretti got murdered; we saw it in the videos. ICE has made it their job to instill fear in peaceful observers.

And yes, tRump states clearly he is willing to overlook illegal hotel and farm workers. You see, it's NOT about proper documentation. It's about who tRump hates and what states he wants to cause trouble in.

There are approx 130,000 undocumented in Minnesota,
There are approx 2,100,000 undocumented in Texas,
There are approx 1,600,000 undocumented in Florida.
Clearly, this surge in Minn ain't about undocumented immigrants.

And, last point, is it so unreasonable to expect ICE to obey the laws of the land, such as following court orders???
pdockal · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues

Are you delusional ?
He was just standing there observing without interfering ?
Was this his only encounter with ICE ?
Was he the minimum distance away (yes the law provides a minimum distance) ?

TX & FL cooperate with ICE & want the illegals removed so they don't need the extra support from the feral government. The Biden administration put the spotlight on MN with the fraud investigating ... didn't they ?

WhileU.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)has been the primary target of judicial criticism for defying court orders in early 2026, other federal agencies and the broaderDepartment of Homeland Security (DHS)have also been accused of similar conduct.
If I'm correct a MN judge issued the orders your are referring to so .... are they biased ?????
@pdockal says
TX & FL cooperate
Nope. The deportation rates aren't proportional to the undocumented populations. TX & FL mostly deport out of existing jail populations; working undocumented in TX & FL get a partial pass due to

pdockal · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues

So your saying that TX & FL don't cooperate with ICE & are sanctuary states ?????

Texas (TX) and Florida (FL) arenotsanctuary states; they are legally classified as anti-sanctuary, or pro-enforcement, states that mandate local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Both states have passed legislation prohibiting policies that limit compliance withU.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues

In the first year of the current administration, deportation activities have significantly intensified inTexas andFlorida, both of which are central hubs for federal enforcement.

In fiscal year 2024, Texas saw more than 156,000 deportations, the highest of any state.

I COULD POST MUCH MOTE BUT IF YOU CAN'T SEE THE ERROR OF YOUR WAYS YOUR HOPELESS

I'll summarize ... since TX & FL cooperate they don't need as much ICE presence as areas that actively seek to disrupt ICE operations
