The light in your side
The dark in the other side
The dark in your side
The light in the other side.

In the areas that we really care about,
each of us laser focuses on one or two of these
while glossing over the other two or three,
and then uses that skewed vision to
decide who's right and who's wrong.
- to decide who should be supported and who should be opposed.

Not just them - not just the people on the other side -
your light-filled side does it just as much as their dark-side,
you just don't see it that way, because as far as
you can see,
you clearly oppose the dark, whereas they clearly oppose the light.

And so do I, when I
act like seeing things clearly is the right-and-righteous path,
and skewing your eyes is purely dark -
when I act as if lighted eyes didn't bring so much misery and rejection,
and as if closed eyes didn't bring support and friendship and connection and
everything worth having in this life.
