Is There A Situation Where It Is Acceptable To Slap A Woman?

It is a question that stirs up instant anger in most people, especially men. Sean Connery was once asked in an interview with a female t.v. host about the time he said "It's not bad to slap a woman from time to time"... I present you all with the video. Please watch in full before commenting. My question is do you think Sean Connery was right here?

No. Definitely not. Once that line has been crossed, where do you stop? Is it then okay to punch a woman? Or headbutt her ? Kick?

@jackieash I would say it is acceptable if she is coming @ you with a weapon..because @ that point she is now trying to kill me. Any other situation, probably not.
@SamInAZ She's only coming at you with a weapon because you used your masculine strength against her and she's scared you'll kill her.

@jackieash that's ridiculous. Women are not innocent creatures. They are capable of offensive violence.
You find domestic violence funny?
@SamInAZ You put one scenario, I put the opposite.

@jackieash okay...so you recognize women can attack a male without being in fear of their life then?
SamInAZ · 41-45, M
@jackieash not at all.
@SamInAZ There are a few, but the vast majority of the domestic abusers are still male. But I am of the belief no one should hit anyone, male on female or female on male, male on male or female on female. Violence scares me and I would do anything to avoid any hint of it.
SamInAZ · 41-45, M
@jackieash so you are a pacifist?
@SamInAZ Yes.
SamInAZ · 41-45, M
@jackieash that is a problematic way to look @ the world with all the violence going on in it. I respect your personal choice to be a pacifist..but I believe that it is an untenable worldview when observing reality. You apparently were born into a situation where pacifism seems plausible...I wasn't.
@SamInAZ Isn;t that what diplomacy is all about? If diplomacy is untenable, why bother? At some stage, those imvolved in these skirmishes, either on a personal or on a world scale need to come to some kind of compromise. Why not try to stop it escalating?
