I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

I'm afraid Feminism has been subverted by a rabid subset, so rather than being pro-women it is fast becoming anti-men... Some of their literature would be laughable if it were not so seriously a threat to a stable society :(
I dated one for a while; if I dared to hold a door open for her I received a lecture on how she was just as capable as a man is of opening doors... The thing is, I'd do it for anyone, it's just manners.
Needless to say, that relationship didn't last, lol.

Unfortunately, modern/3rd wave feminism seems to be rife with these kinds of double standards. Which makes it kind of difficult for me to take the movement seriously.

There is too much generalization and blame casting on both sides. If more people would suck it up and be the kind of partner they want their partner to be - a lot of this would go away.

You can say " that's typical white male behavior" and no one bats an eye

@JarJarBoom...I went to the movie theater and watched "Ghostbusters" 18 times in a row when I was a kid. I don't care WHO they got to star in the remake, there's no way they could ever top Bill Murray and the gang. I even refused to watch the trailers
P.S. Also, shark week was never traumatic for me LOL

White male privilege, they say :D

@Lucy - I totally agree
It's interesting to note that Feminism is considered a great thing, yet it's closest male equivalent, Chauvinism is not...
One a 'valiant struggle for equality'! The other 'generally being a twatbag'...
Propaganda at it's finest...

@MalteseFalconPunch...Unfortunately that's like hoping on "Happily Ever After".
It sounds great in theory but whether society's actually capable of it is a completely different matter.

@darksloth...I appreciate the offer but I'm not really the marrying type. That would make me a man hater for sure.
May I suggest we shack up instead? ;)

@LucyFuhr, not too sure what you mean, I wasn't referring to castration. I was just talking about the double standards when it comes to sexism and other issues.

@Quizling...I happen to LOVE men...a lot of them anyway LOL
I hate hypocrisy just as much. If misogyny is bad then misandry should be "equally" bad.

I'm not sure true equality is achievable. We seem at best to replace tragedy with eggshells.

Dont you think women are punished enough by our menstrual cycle and a bad ghostbusters remake??

@Quizling...Isn't chauvinism now considered a crime? LOL
I'm all for feminism and the ladies of the first and second wave but the word equality seems to have been bastardized since.

@smallguywimp...Castration wasn't originally meant to be part of the agenda.
