I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

Are we 100% certain that George Floyd’s heinous murder was because of his race? Or was psycho cop, just being a psychopath, regardless of the color of the victim’s skin? To me, this hasn’t been established. Everyone just assumed it was racial. The only one who knows for sure is the murderer. Only he knows what his motive was to take George’s life. Maybe we will find out at his trial, but until we do, I’m not convinced that this was racial. He had 18 previous complaints against him. If the media were proper journalists, we’d know what those complaints were, and who made them. We are missing information, and more people are dead because of the riots, and assumptions that it’s about race.

Sometimes when things happen for no apparent reason I do wonder if it is because of my race. In some cases it possibly is and in others it could be because someone is being a jerk and I quite possibly could go nuts thinking it. It is paranoia but not without reason. ....however, one cannot deny the unpropotional amount of African Americans that are killed by police. Maybe it was just a psychopath, but I just don't buy it

I understand. Did you know more whites were killed by police than blacks, in 2019? I didn’t know that until I heard the statistics. I believe racism exists, and it exists in many races, it’s not just a white on black issue, but I do understand why you feel as you do. You may be right, but until we have more evidence of motive, I’ll reserve my judgment. @InOtterWords

@Carissimi rather than numbers look at it in proportion of population. It may well paint a different picture. Racial profiling exists, I have been followed by security in stores, stopped and searched, pulled over by the police whenever I was driving my dad's car....hell my dad has been pulled over driving his car

Racial profiling exists, so when something like this happens most people will believe it is because of race. It usually is.

One of my sons, who is white, has been stopped so many times by corrupt police. Taken from his car, handcuffed, and put in jail overnight without even being arrested. He couldn’t make a phone call because they said he wasn’t arrested, just being detained. They took him before a judge the next morning. The judge told him to go home. He wasn’t charged with anything. He was a two-hour walk from his car. It was pure power by ego maniac cops. My son had worked a 12-hour shift, and was driving home from work. He did nothing wrong. This has happened several times. While I sympathize with you, and believe some cops are racist, I also know that many are just ego maniacs, whose power has gone to their heads, and color of skin is irrelevant in many cases. @InOtterWords

@InOtterWords Yes, That PD has a terrible track record for killing innocent people. The victim’s were black and white. They hire just about anyone, even criminals. What do they expect when the hiring standards are so low.
