I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

When a moderate Christian criticizes all of Islam because of Islamic extremists I have to resist the urge to mock their hypocrisy.

I don't believe in god, is it okay for me to criticize Islam?
I would criticize it even if there were no Islamic Extremists, the fact that they exist just makes it easier.
When a so many psychopaths in the world seem to come from the same religion it is time to ask why.

You're trying to make it seem like it's equal but it's really not. Same thing, but huge disparity. Kkk has a few thousand members worldwide, no funding from nations and hasn't been supported by ANY Christian denominations. They're a fucked up group for sure, but their impact pales in comparison to Isis for example. Close to 100,000 strong, funding by nations and supported by certain denominations of Islam.

I'm not saying it's right to criticize an individual based on their beliefs, but it's not hard to understand why Muslims are feeling more pressure from people these days.

You're too young to mock anybody.
To do so shows a lack of understanding and a deficit of life experience.
It's also demeaning both to those you mock and your construct of who you think you are.

@Flenflyys not to the level islam does no, there obviously no denying that, but Christianity is just as viable a banner for extremism as islam. The KKK for example. A moderate christian will say, they aren't really christians which is exactly what a moderate muslim would say about terrorists nowadays.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
I never said it did. But sometimes you need to look at things from a bigger perspective. It's my opinion that people are more critical of Islam because of the global impact it's followers have today. You'd be hard pressed to find a Christian who feels that their own religion has a spotless history.
mic11225 · 26-30, M
@FlenFlyys I agree with that. That doesn't change the fact that if someone picks and chooses what to believe and how to perceive something from their holy text they'd be a hypocrite to criticize others for doing the same thing.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Ok I wrote a whole thing but it's gone for some reason. So I'll sum it up:
Islam is a politicized religion making the execution of any interpretations of their religious beliefs potentially more dangerous.
mic11225 · 26-30, M
@flenflyys that's the point though. There are Muslims who don't think what terrorists do is ok either but they are mentally lumped in with the terrorists by people who do exactly what those peaceful Muslims do.
mic11225 · 26-30, M
@Flenflyys because 1.) I'd be doing it way too often 2.) They probably wouldn't understand or have some lame untrue justifications or defensive words to bother me with.

Are there a lot of Christian extremists raping and killing in the name of their religion in 2016?
walabby · 61-69, M
Moderate Muslims need to control radical Muslims, lest they get tarred with the same brush...
mic11225 · 26-30, M
@walabby yes because they are in control of what Muslim terrorists do. -_-
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Christianity is just as evil as Islam.
