I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

There's more proof behind there being no God than there is proof of a God being there.

I'm always amazed at how God is so very important and vital to the Godless. How much time and energy they spend on something they don't even believe in.

I just ignore him.
Extant1
You just wrote a post about him...........
I've never felt the need to write a post about the fallacy of Santa Clause or the tooth fairy........have you??? I mean for something you ignore, it was important enough to write a post about......I usually don't write posts about things I don't believe exist..............
Saturnalia · 22-25, M
I meant as in public. When people go about me against what I think.
Extant1
I understand that........that makes sense!! I don't like either side pressing their beliefs on me!! Now I follow you!!!

It's widely known by anyone over the age of 10 that the tooth fairy dosnt exist, so we don't need to discus it.

Yeah... I knew that...

It's amazing to me how little effort believers actually put forth into examing evidence for anything. They just take things on faith. And just because they don't understand how things work, it's easier to just think some imaginary being did it - without any consideration for what it must have required for a god to become possible.
KatieTreat
Not many people make any effort to push legislation to pass laws imposing their beliefs about Santa Claus on the general populace.

Believers in God spend a whole lot of time arguing against thinks they don't believe too, such as abortion or gay marriage... And I like to think of it as a belief that God is a myth and I like to preach it just as you like to preach the word of God :)

As a believer of god I don't oppose my beliefs on anyone. If gays want to married and be miserable with the rest of us, why not?! If you believe so strongly in God you should know that he without sin shall cast the first stone.
TheEmbersofANewAndStongerFlame
I don't pretend to know everything. And yeah, modern science can explain a lot but not everything. I as a person would rather believe there is a god, rather life just being a random splitting of atoms.
KatieTreat
That's kind of my point.
TheEmbersofANewAndStongerFlame
The little effort part? It's not like I'm just lazy, I try and educate myself as much as possible.
KatieTreat
Me too. Which is why I don't understand why people believe in gods.

That's the thing because of there faith they don't feel the need to prove anything now on the other hand non believers did go and find out that most of what the bible said is actually true they were not I fact able to disprove what they could not prove but to be honest i don't care what people believe in would you try and convince someone to do something even when you know 100% that they will never change there mind cuz I wouldn't
TheEmbersofANewAndStongerFlame
I understand, once you start learning it becomes hard not to question everything and well the thought of some "God" amongst the cloud seems kinda of silly. But the universe is vast and our understanding is so little that just makes when if all this wasn't part of some God's grand scheme.
TheEmbersofANewAndStongerFlame
But as to why some people believe? My answer is accountability and comfort . when something goes wrong they have someone to ask why, when something goes right they have someone to praise, when they are confused they something to clear the confusion (the bible). They pray for change and the universe grants it to them. The world is illuminated with his glory and love, shattering the darkness of doubt, worry, and fear.
theosis
I totally agree.
