@ElwoodBlues I have talked to people from socialist countries, and their taxes are fantastically high! So, if you like giving the govt. lots of your money, you might like living there.

@fanuc2013 y'all...don't read. Socislism doesn't mean "stuff the government does".

@ElwoodBlues it costs 4k to send your kids to daycare in Norway
Daycare here costs $800-$1000 a month
The only way they survive in that kind of economy is because they all have farms and live off the land
America is too industrialized to adopt a sustainable lifestyle like that overnight

@DeluxedEdition Hmm. According to

childcare in Norway is capped around $290/month.
Also, according to statista
So no, @DeluxedEdition. According to the publicly available data, less than 3% of Norwegians live off the land, and daycare is 3X LOWER than the US, not 4X higher.

Norway applies the principle that no family should pay more than 6 percent of their total income to childcare. Additionally, low-income families are eligible to receive 20 hours / week of free childcare.
Calculated on household income and number of children.
Capped at NOK 3 000/child per month (circa USD 290).

@ElwoodBlues I was told by someone who lives there that’s what she pays. because i wanted to move there or to Denmark or Switzerland. but I reconsidered because of what I just told you
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@ElwoodBlues actually scratch what I said I said “Norway” and I should have said “ Switzerland”
Maybe I had it all wrong I should’ve been trying to move to Norway 😂

@DeluxedEdition Yeah, I would believe it about Switzerland, but the Nordics are famous for their "cradle to grave" care. High taxes, terrific safety net.
