Okay I'm going to define socialism here because... I don't know what you're talking about.
Liberalism is a political philosophy that espouses concepts like constitutions, personal freedoms, the free market (capitalism), and voting. i.e. personal [b]liberty[/b]
Socialists saw liberals in the early 1800s and realized they solved political problems but not -social- ones. So yeah we can vote now, but poor people are still going hungry, and the same rich people are in charge. So they wanted to solve the [b]social problem[/b] of inequality.
And so what you would see in political battles around the world was fights between conservatives, liberals, and socialists. Three distinct camps who wanted three distinct things.
And the ones who wanted masters and peasants were the conservatives because they want to [b]conserve[/b] the system of monarchy. Modern conservatives don't want kings, but they do want to conserve traditions and older ways of doing things, which were never equal.

@CountScrofula taking capital in the form of tax, and redistribution while aiding to large to fail operations is the definition of a socialist society.

@CountScrofula the liberal world order in effect. States are responsible for their roads and emergency services, is why they are so under funded, with wasting valuable resources on federal agendas, and beuarocratic things like all the UN agencies that keep us dependent.

@CountScrofula liberals are socialists today, no conservative wants monarchy, thats the misconception. There are only two camps, liberating us from liberals, or embracing socialism.
