A true socialist is always a "have not" person. [I Am a Socialist]

- socialism seems like a good way for lazy, unmotivated people to get stuff
- if they "have" money, they should be giving it away to less fortunate people.

Remind yourself you hate socialism in about 12-15 years when your hand is out every month to get a Social Security check. Or you could do it now when you send your kids to public schools. Or when you open your mailbox. Or when you drive down a state or country road. Tell us---which of those did you pay for COMPLETELY all by yourself???

@anythingoes477 you're acting like I'm not forced to contribute money to these things and just want to use them for free. I am literally losing money to the government on every one of these items. Private would be better in all areas.

I could have 4x as much in an IRA or 401k if the government would have left my paychecks alone.
I will continue to pay taxes for the schools long after my kids are graduated. Additionally, the public education sucks, but I'm still forced to buy it.
I pay gas tax and state tax for roads that literally fall apart.
As for mail...again it isn't free, but UPS and Fedex are private alternatives that actually run a profitable operation.

Try again. Forced participation and terrible return for my dollar in EVERY area is NOT helping your case.
@easterniowegin Great argument that says nothing. Socialism defined is when ALL pay into a system that gives back individually to those in that system. That has nothing to do with how great you think those things are or how bad you think they are. When you pay in--then reap your share of the benefits back out---be that a road..or a school system......then you ARE a socialist yourself. You attempt to discount that by placing your opinion of how good or how bad one of those things are.........but socialism is socialism and your hand in is it just like everyone else's. About 99% of the time the thin argument you espouse is a just repeated talking point spoon fed to you by a political party---or the TV station that political party owns. Also 99% of the time.....those that repeat those talking head points don't have a clue what the words actually mean. In your case socialism is associated with the quality of what you get back...while you totally miss the point that WHAT you get back---good or bad quality---"IS" socialism.

@anythingoes477 thats quite the indignant comment from you.

The entire problem with socialism is that you do not benefit in any meaningful way from it. I could get better results for my dollar by using a private business and negotiating my cost/value. What, exactly, is the perceived benefit, when the ROI on government services is always negative??

I am NOT in favor of government controlled services. As with too many things in this country, i am a hostage to the whims of terrible politicians who love the control they have. And too many sheep love the feeling they get knowing that the government is "caring" for them. That and I'm sure you guys like the idea of everyone enjoying shitty services, because misery loves company.

@anythingoes477 is your whole argument that i must like socialism because I'm being forced to participate? I hate every aspect of it, and despise idiots who want to increase the use of it in this country.
I mean, why in the hell would you tout a program that produces shitty results? Who does that? And why? And then attempt to convince me that I really benefit from the negative return on my dollars...simply because everyone is doing it?!
@easterniowegin But government socialism for corporations is fabulous, huh? I do agree the politicians we have now suck. I keep hoping Donnie the Con Man might inject himself with some Clorox.......or maybe get windmill cancer and we can flush him away before November even. But "government controlled services"....welfare and the like are completely preventable and 100% politically caused.

The main Republican bitch is about supporting the needy......socialism. People that wouldn't be on those rolls if it wasn't for a generational political agenda of keeping people poor. If the minimum wage was raised to $15 an hour that would take about 90% of everyone getting assistance of any kind---just barely off of those rolls. Those people then would pay taxes--not just get automatic refunds for not working. But the GOP fight is to make sure the poor always stay poor.

The working poor should NEVER have a pay raise for minimum wage....which means they will NEVER make it without assistance----but as soon as they are forced to ask for it--the bitch is they are lazy people looking for a handout. So the working poor are a perpetual problem because of socialism........and if you elect me I will make sure they don't get a raise------OR help. That---and "OMG there gonna stele ur gunz" is the perennial re-election chat.

As far as what you can get from private business investment vs "government services"---why didn't you send your kids to charter schools? Have you opted out of paying FICA so you can live off of your investments and buy your personal insurance after you retire?? You can do that...but we both bet you haven't, huh?
@easterniowegin If you receive a negative return on your dollar------------you are a stupid investor. I make really good money---up market or down.

@anythingoes477 do you think about your comments before you type them out?
Anyone who is forced to pay into these government scams, are receiving a negative return. Including you.

I most certainly could pay for my kids to go to a charter school, but until I get a voucher to take my allocated tax dollars with me, why in the hell would i pay twice for the single service?? See, this is exactly why libs don't want the voucher system implemented... they know the public education is terrible, and they would eventually watch it erode away as everyone moved to charter schools. Then the government would no longer be involved in education. The market would naturally move away from the government, if it was allowed to.
On a similar manner, do you understand how difficult the government has made it to opt out of social security paycheck deductions?? It's not 100% impossible, but nearly. Smdh. Why even throw that in to your argument? You don't want people to move away from the government and into the private market. That's why it is made to be cost or logistically prohibitive.

Why don't libs act like they understand anything about economics? Why stop at $15/hr for mininum wage? Why not make it $50...or $100??! Because the amount of inflation that accompanies such a hike ultimately makes the wage useless no matter what. The key is NOT raising the wage...it is raising the skillset of the people who have been content to remain at a minimum sillset for that minimum wage. The minimum wage has more than doubled, just in my lifetime. Despite that sort of increase, minimum wage people still suffer. The government cannot lift people out of poverty...they must work to do that themselves.

You still haven't proven any benefits to socialism... "because we have mandated it" doesn't work.
