I Like Guns [Pro Gun]

Lesson learned today a super dirty barrel will affect accuracy. Now I feel dumb, all my years of shooting had never seen this 😣

Geeze how dirty ? What were you shooting ?

@TexChik I bought a ruger 10/22 to replace that bolt action I had problems with. Took the bolt action to the gunsmith and the first thing he said is "look at all the build up in your barrel"

@Powderflask I clean mine about every brick . I only shoot LR . Shorts will foul the barrel . When I got my 10/22 (as a gift ) it was tricked out . Huge heavy barrel , over molded stock , aftermarket trigger and a 3x14x40 scope with an extension tube for shade in sun light . It also has a suppressor . You can’t really tell because it’s the same diameter and Matt finish as the rifle . You can only hear the slide and the brass when you shoot most of the time . The suppressor gets cleaned after every extended shooting session ... I keep it at the farm and snipe coons and possums that are getting into the barn or garden

@TexChik nice. Mine is a basic carbine. Suppressors are out of my budget, but we always kept subsonic .22lr in dad's model 60 for pest control purposes so I get that.

@Powderflask Stock 10/22s are great . They make a “ take down “ version that collapses in half for campers or hikers ... but not quite as accurate

@TexChik I know, the local gun shop had a $130 difference between a standard carbine and a "take down model" I never compared accuracy I just wasn't willing to pay more. I don't need a folding gun
